Big Canoe Completed

Had a good time working with my son up in Big Canoe...timber retaining wall turned out nicely as did the front planting of Creeping Plum Yew (chosen because it's a neat plant and virtually deer-proof..Big Canoe is a wildlife sanctuary and the deer can be landscape pests...we saw no deer during the days but did see a couple of turkeys this afternoon.)

Dunwoody Sod Prep

This is the same Dunwoody project I did a dry creek bed/drainage solution for last month. Installing about 2500' of Emerald Zoysia sod tomorrow..the prep work has consisted mainly of filling and leveling. The old yard had some uncomfortable slopes and a lot of exposed roots. The old turf/weeds were sprayed with herbicide well in advance of the photographed work below. On Monday we brought in 15 yards of red clay fill to cover the roots and help level the yard to more a more usable grade. Today we brought in 8 yards of topsoil (bottom pic) for the final grading.
