Big Canoe-Quarterly Maintenance

Went up to Big Canoe in Pickens Co. on Saturday. I have a quarterly maintenance account there and this was a bit of an extra visit..I didn't quite get finished with some pine strawing last visit, and they are hosting a 4th of July party next weekend..and wanted everything pruned, sprayed, etc. I had company for about and hour and finally got the camera and took a photo (bottom) - one of a group of browsing deer. They didn't seem to care I was around, but they weren't coming very close either;-)

Quarterly Maintenance-Big Canoe & Little 5 Points

With all the recent weather delays, I find myself pretty much working whenever it isn't raining-including this weekend. On Saturday my son and I went up to Big Canoe for a quarterly maintenance account, today I went down to Little 5 Points to do part of the quarterly maintenance and prepare for changing out the annual flower beds. Should finish there later this week-as the first part of the week is devoted to finishing a drainage job in Brookhaven before the weather turns again...never a dull moment;-)

Big Canoe Completed

Had a good time working with my son up in Big Canoe...timber retaining wall turned out nicely as did the front planting of Creeping Plum Yew (chosen because it's a neat plant and virtually deer-proof..Big Canoe is a wildlife sanctuary and the deer can be landscape pests...we saw no deer during the days but did see a couple of turkeys this afternoon.)

Big Canoe 7/23

Got started on demolition of a crosstie wall-intallation of a pressure treated timber wall and some clean-up and planting up at Big Canoe. Great place to work-5 degrees cooler and a great view!
